For 2010, Mazda’s performance-minded SUV gets a makeover inside and out. The changes add up to a great value equation — the CX-7 is a great family SUV with cool styling and a sporty driving experience.
The five-seat CX-7 is a family hauler that doesn’t look or drive like one. It’s a great choice for families who want zippy performance at an affordable price. For 2010, the CX-7 boasts new styling and a new base engine — the same 2.5-liter powerplant used in the Mazda5 and Mazda3. The four-cylinder engine makes 161 horsepower and 161 pound-feet of torque, which means it makes less power than the SUV’s previous turbocharged engine, but will achieve better fuel economy.
Volcano erupting on flight to St. Lucia
A Calgary woman’s Caribbean holiday snapshot has gone viral, but it’s no photo of beachside frolicking that’s made Mary Jo Penkala famous.The Calgary hairdresser was aboard a WestJet flight to St. Lucia when she peered out the window and saw a “funky-looking” plume billowing above the rest of the clouds. Penkala began snapping photos furiously as the mushroom-shaped cloud shot higher in the sky.It wasn’t until the captain made an announcement urging passengers of the Boeing 737 to peek out the left side of the airplane that Penkala realized she had a perfect, birds-eye view of a volcano erupting.
